This Activated Carbon Block Cartridge Filter is the original equipment stage one replacement for all GE Merlin Systems.

This filter will remove chlorine and sediment down to 5-microns to protect the membranes. If your water supply contains unusual amounts of sediment and/or chlorine, or you find that you need to change this filter too frequently, it is recommended that you install additional, larger scale, prefiltration prior to the Merlin System.

For general sanitary reasons, and to keep your Merlin running efficiently, this filter should be changed at least every 6 months.
